Osun Cocoa firm starts production

A Cocoa factory in Ede, Osun state, south west Nigeria has started processing cocoa beans for domestic and overseasmarkets.

The company started production in 2001 and halted it due to old equipment and management issues.

Commissioner for Industries, Ismail Alagbada, says the industry is processing 20,000 tonnes of cocoa daily.

According to Alagbada the production capacity of the company has increased to 400 percent.
